Kanex has unveiled two HDMI adapters for the 4th generation Apple TV, allowing customers to use their existing hardware and have high quality audio support. The digital audio adapter for new Apple TV provides an optical audio port to connect a surround sound system to the 4th generation Apple TV, while the HDMI to VGA Adapter connects a VGA-ready TV, monitor or projector with audio support. The adapters offer a way to enjoy the new features of the Apple TV, without the hassle of replacing current equipment.

With the Kanex adapter, AirPlay mirroring from an iPad can be used with an existing projector, circumventing the need to upgrade to HDMI equipment.
