Hunter Douglas has added two new power options for the PowerView Gen 3 Automation portfolio: the Internal Rechargeable Battery for retrofit projects and PowerView+ Gen 3 Automation for new construction. Both options uphold PowerView Gen 3’s principles of installation simplicity, performance reliability, and system scalability, while also featuring redesigned motors that achieve a new standard of quiet, discreet operation, according to the company.
Internal Rechargeable Battery
The Internal Rechargeable Battery provides a clean look that does not detract from the intended design aesthetic — and offers the quietest battery-powered shade automation yet. Entirely concealed within the roller tube for a seamless look and enabling shallow mounting depths, the Internal Rechargeable Battery brings long-lasting power to Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shades, Designer Screen Shades, Designer Banded Shades, Alustra Woven Texture Roller Shades, and Alustra Architectural Shades.
The battery provides charge for approximately one year and is easily recharged, even from two stories below, via a magnetic charging connector. It offers a convenient and sustainable solution that reduces waste, conserves resources associated with manufacturing and distributing disposable batteries, and saves money for the homeowner in the long run.
PowerView+
PowerView+ is a premium low-voltage hardwired power and communication solution. It delivers simplicity and scalability with enhanced reliability from the wired connection. PowerView+ uses a Smart Power Supply that connects to the home network via Ethernet and leverages a hardwired communication protocol for two-way, accurate communication to up to 16 shades. The system provides a streamlined solution to concealing wire terminations and allows daisy-chaining for up to three shades from a single output. PowerView+ includes the same ultra-quiet motor technology as the Internal Rechargeable Battery and is available on Designer Roller Shades, Designer Screen Shades, Pirouette Window Shadings, and Silhouette Window Shadings.
The Internal Rechargeable Battery and PowerView+ preserve user-favorite control options for shades: Integrators can pre-schedule scenes in the PowerView App or within a third-party control system, and homeowners can trigger automations though the PowerView App, the Pebble Remote, or through their home automation ecosystem.
