Legrand has introduced the newest Smart Fan Controller additions to its Smart Lighting with Netatmo portfolio. Available in both the adorne and radiant Collections, with wired and wireless remote options for 3-way and multi-location control, the new fan speed controllers give homeowners greater comfort, convenience, and control over ceiling fans throughout the home.
The Smart Fan Controllers offer four selectable fan speeds that can be set at the wall or managed from anywhere through the Legrand Home + Control app, which also supports automated schedules that turn fans on and off at specified times. Because the Smart Lighting with Netatmo system integrates with Google Home, Apple Home, and Amazon Alexa, users can also adjust fan speed by voice or fold fan control into routines on their preferred smart home platform.
Everyday operation is designed to be simple: A double press on the paddle takes the fan straight to maximum speed, the controller retains its set speed level after a power outage, and its de-hummer design helps reduce motor hum for quieter operation.
Each primary Smart Fan Controller can be paired with an add-on remote to create 3-way or multi-location control in new construction or retrofit projects:
- Wireless Remote Smart Fan Controller: Battery-powered and installed without cutting into walls or running new wiring, the wireless remote mounts to a wall or surface with included adhesive strips or can be installed in an electrical box. It is well suited to locations where additional fan control is wanted but no wiring exists.
- Wired Remote Smart Fan Controller: Line-voltage powered and installed in an electrical box, the wired remote communicates wirelessly back to the primary controller. It is designed for converting existing 3-way or multi-location fan control into part of the smart home, and in new construction it removes the traveler wire requirement, saving installation time and cost.
Like every Smart Lighting with Netatmo device, the Smart Fan Controllers connect to the system through a Smart Gateway with Netatmo, which establishes a dedicated mesh network supporting up to 98 connected devices. Each primary device added to the home, whether a switch, dimmer, outlet or fan controller, strengthens that network. The primary Smart Fan Controller is rated at 1.6A, 120VAC, for use with AC ceiling fan motors.
The adorne Smart Fan Controllers feature the collection’s signature square form, while the radiant versions offer clean lines and classic styling with included screwless wall plates. Wall plates for adorne devices are sold separately in more than 30 colors and finishes. Devices from both collections can be mixed and matched within a single Smart Lighting with Netatmo system, and they also match the standard devices in each collection for a cohesive look that complements a home’s style and décor.
For more design flexibility and customization, Smart Fan Controller Color Change Kits will be available later this fall, with nine color options in the radiant Collection (White, Light Almond, Ivory, Gray, Nickel, Graphite, Black, Brown and Dark Bronze) and three in the adorne Collection (White, Magnesium and Graphite).
