URC Introduces the MX-890 Remote Control

URC has introduced the MX-890 Programmable Color LCD Universal Remote Control, the newest addition to its Complete Control lineup.

URC has introduced the MX-890 Programmable Color LCD Universal Remote Control, the newest addition to its Complete Control lineup.

The MX-890, which can support up to 200 devices, features a high-resolution two-inch color LCD screen that can be fully personalized by the installer with custom graphics for up to six buttons per screen. Its comfortable ergonomic design is the result of URC’s decades of research and real-world feedback in usability, the company says. Because the MX-890 is programmed using URC’s standard Complete Control Program (CCP) software, there is no learning curve for URC dealers; they can hit the ground running with the MX-890.

“URC offers the most comprehensive full-color remote control lineup in the industry,” said Doug Cole, URC’s senior vice president and general manager. “The MX-890 was developed as a result of our dealers’ input regarding rounding out the line. With this latest addition to the Complete Control series, our dealers can choose from a variety of full-color remotes that perfectly suit any installation scenario, client need or budget they may encounter.”

The MX-890 is equipped to handle virtually any home application. It can provide one-way control of any AV product, as well as URC Lighting. One touch puts the user in command of everything from watching movies to listening to the radio, regardless of the components. Strong enough to control the most robust home theater, and versatile enough to control a multi-zone system, the MX-890 eliminates the need for countless device-specific remotes. While every button on the MX-890’s screen can be customized with icons, the MX-890 also includes hard button controls for fast access to every function, such as power, numeric keys, channel up/down, navigation buttons and more. Its four color hard buttons are useful with many cable boxes and subscription DVRs.

Operable via both IR and RF, the MX-890 can be paired with one of URC’s base stations, such as the MRX-1/RFX-250, MRF-350 or MRF-260, to operate equipment through walls, cabinet doors or from outside. It sits in an attractive tabletop charging cradle—included with a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery—and is always ready for action the moment the user picks it up. To conserve energy, the screen’s brightness can be adjusted.

The MX-890 is now shipping with an MSRP of $499.00.
