Blustream Introduces Two New Video Distribution Solutions

Both matrix and ideo-over-IP products will be on display at the company’s first CEDIA Expo exhibit.

Blustream will exhibit for the first time at CEDIA Expo 2022, Sept. 29-Oct.1 in Dallas. In Booth 18048, the company will highlight its catalog of video distribution products, including two new solutions: the Platinum PLA88CS 4K HDMI 2.0 8×8 matrix and the IP300UHD 4K 18 Gbps Video over IP platform. Blustream will also host a training event named “AV Distribution Without Compromise,” giving installers a chance to learn more about its wide breadth of products, proven track record, and industry-recognized leadership.

While Blustream is representing all categories at CEDIA Expo, a stand-out highlight will be its Platinum PLA88CS 4K HDMI 2.0 8×8 matrix. Reducing labor and hardware while boosting signal and image quality, the PLA88CS combines the global standard of advanced HDBaseT to transmit HDMI, ARC, LAN, and bidirectional IR and RS-232 signals up to lengths of 100m (4K UHD) and 150m (1080p) over single Cat cable. It can accommodate displays with various audio capabilities and resolutions, downscaling 4K videos for lower resolution displays while maintaining pristine resolution for UHD displays. The matrix also provides advanced features including independent Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and DTS audio downmixing on HDMI and audio outputs.

Video over IP is a hot category, and Blustream offers solutions from 1080p to SDVoE AV over IP — the IP500UHD Transceiver — that provides the high quality, uncompromised 18Gbps 4K with zero latency AV extension over copper or optical fiber 10Gb managed networks. Debuting at CEDIA will be a new 4K 18 Gbps addition to the Video over IP platform — the IP300UHD. This new AV over IP solution delivers the full presence of 4K at 60 Hz 4:4:4 over a 1 Gb network, opening up another avenue within the Blustream family to access HDMI 2.0 and all its capabilities over new or existing IP network infrastructures. Included are all of the inputs and outputs, such as USB 2.0, IR, serial, and more that customers have come to expect from Blustream AV over IP.

For 8×8 and smaller installations, a matrix is often the most efficient solution, and Blustream will highlight its two HDBaseT matrices: the HMXL88ARC and HMXL66ARC. Using Color Space Conversion (CSC) technology, each matrix supports 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4 resolutions over distances of 40m over a single Cat6 cable. Enhanced audio routing is achieved through the integrated 26×8 audio matrix (HMXL88ARC) or the 20×6 (HMXL66ARC) audio matrix. This enables the audio, from both the displays (via ARC) and all other sources, to be embedded and routed through the system at the user’s discretion.

Blustream’s HEX18GARC-KIT and HEX18G-KIT extender sets deliver uncompressed, unconverted 18 Gbps HDMI over HDBaseT. HEX18GARC-KIT uses the latest HDBaseT technology to distribute bit-for-bit 4K HDMI video and audio up to 328 feet over a single Cat6A cable, with support for USB 2.0/KVM, eARC, ARC, and 1 Gb Ethernet pass-through. The HEX18G-KIT delivers foundational, uncompressed, and unconverted 18 Gbps HDMI Over HDBaseT performance and basic control signal extension when the audio return channel is not needed.

Bringing the audio back to an AVR or soundbar is a simple task for installers with the Blustream CAT100EARC Audio over Cat Cable extender. It transmits HDMI eARC/ARC or optical digital audio signals up to a distance of 200m (eARC/ARC signals up to 100m). This plug-and-play device supports CEC pass-through when HDMI eARC/ARC audio is selected and features a built-in DAC to convert either of the inputs to a stereo left/right audio output.

Get a sneak peek at Blustream’s Dante NPA70 compact Dante 2-channel amp with PoE++, shipping in October. This networked audio zone amplifier delivers advanced audio integration within a residential or resimercial AV installation. It features 2x 35W digital amplifier (1x 70W mono) or 70V/100V high-level constant voltage output and Dante audio integration. It can be powered via PoE++ from a compatible network switch, or locally. The unit also includes the ability to lower the amplifier power output subject to PoE capabilities; support for combined or independent LAN and Dante connections; DSP with a 31-band EQ; audio delay for lip sync correction; and control via front panel, IR, RS-232, TCP/IP, web GUI, or 12V trigger.

Learn more about Blustream in its manufacturer’s training, “AV Distribution Without Compromise.” Hosted in room C143 on Friday, Sept. 30 from 1 to 2:30 PM, integrators will be able to learn why it’s the go-to brand for AV distribution worldwide. Attendees will see a demonstration of the company’s “drag-and-drop” AV-over-IP in action, an introduction to the company’s latest solutions, and a chance to win Blustream products. The event will be hosted by Jason Fitzgerald.
