Proficient by Core Brands is introducing a new seven-model line of Protege Cabinet loudspeakers that are designed to blend innovative features with a fresh design to meet the demands of the latest immersive audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
“This is our latest thinking on industrial design and our Proficient sound signature, but applied to freestanding loudspeaker solutions,” said Keith Marshall, Proficient found and senior VP of channel development. “During the design process, we analyzed emerging audio technologies and evaluated the way today’s customers want their loudspeakers to look, feel and sound. From this, we developed an exceptional looking new line of loudspeakers that we believe our dealers will appreciate even more once they light them up.”
The new Protege Cabinet Series features seven passive loudspeakers: a Dolby Atmos enabled “height” speaker, a dual-woofer floor standing speaker, two bookshelf speakers, a three-channel soundbar, and two LCR speakers.
Each Protege Cabinet Series speaker pairs composite graphite cone woofers with silk dome tweeters to deliver the sonic signature for which Proficient is well known.
The Protege LDA5 Dolby Atmos Enabled Height Speaker delivers the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X by directing sound upward to reflect off the ceiling. Fitting perfectly atop the LFS6 or LB6, in addition, the LDA5 comes with a flush-mounted, single-slot mounting plate for installing high on the wall up to fire down at the sweet-spot listening area. The LDA5 includes a 5-inch graphite composite cone woofer and 1-inch silk dome tweeter. The LDA5 delivers a frequency response of 120Hz – 20kHz with 60 Watt power handling and a sensitivity of 84dB 2.83V/1m.
The Protege LFS6 Two-way Floor-Standing Speaker delivers full-range sound with or without an accompanying subwoofer. With two 6-inch graphite composite cone woofers and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter, the LFS6 handles 125 Watts of power with a frequency response of 60Hz – 20kHz at 89dB 2.83V/1m sensitivity. Custom installers can sit the LDA5 atop the LFS6 to turn it into an immersive sound system compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
The Protege LB62 Bookshelf Speaker is ideal for stereo or multi-channel systems as well as fixed-install commercial systems due to the flexibility of mounting options. The LB62 includes a 6-inch graphite composite cone woofer with a 1-inch silk dome to deliver a power handling of 100 Watts, a frequency response of 74Hz – 20kHz and a sensitivity of 87dB 2.83V/1m. The LDA5 can be placed on top of the LDA5 to make an immersive sound system compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. The LB62 is built for fixed installations: it comes with a built-in, flush-mount, single-slot mounting plate, plus it has brass inserts to pair up with optional OMNIMOUNT 15.0 W or 15.0 C stainless steel wall or ceiling mount brackets.
The smaller Protege LB52 Bookshelf Speaker works well when a smaller footprint is needed without sacrificing sound. The LB52 features two 5-inch graphite composite cone woofers with a 1-inch silk dome tweeter. It handles 80 Watts of power, with a frequency response of 78Hz – 20kHz and a sensitivity of 86dB 2.83V/1m. The LB52 is built for fixed installations: it comes with a built-in, flush-mount, single-slot mounting plate and also has brass inserts built-in to pair up with optional OMNIMOUNT 10.0 W/C wall brackets.
The Protege LSB3 Three-Channel Passive Soundbar has six 3-inch graphite composite cone woofers and three 1-inch silk dome tweeters. It can be used with any A/V receiver or surround separates, and can also be combined with any surround speakers or subwoofer. The LSB3 comes with a Proficient-Designed mounting bracket that makes installing the LSB3 on a wall simple and efficient, no matter where the wall studs are located. The soundbar measures 4-1/2” x 39-1/4” x 2-3/8” and delivers a frequency response of 140Hz – 20kHz, 60 Watts power handling, and 88dB 2.83V/1m sensitivity.
The Protege LCR5 Speaker excels in both horizontal and vertical placements to install with TV’s. It boasts two 5-inch graphite woofers and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter. The LCR5 speaker over-delivers with power handling of 100 Watts, a frequency response of 74Hz – 20kHz and sensitivity of 87dB 2.83V/1m. It includes two installed, flush-mount bi-directional keyhole wall mounts for horizontal or vertical mounting around TV’s.
The smaller Protege LCR4 Speaker is a compact LCR speaker that’s meant for smaller media rooms, dens, and compact stereo systems, and also includes a bi-directional keyhole wall mount and threaded inserts for the OmniMount mounts. The LCR4 features two 4-inch graphite composite cone woofers and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter with a power handling of 90 Watts, a frequency response of 80Hz – 20kHz, and sensitivity of 86dB 2.83V/1m. The LCR4 includes two installed, flush-mount bi-directional keyhole wall mounts for horizontal or vertical mounting around TV’s.
