URC’s Total Control Mobile iOS app is now available.
URC’s new app enables end users of URC Total Control systems to access all the benefits of Total Control through three additional devices — the iPad (pictured), iPhone, and iPod touch.
The app enables end users of URC Total Control systems to access all the benefits of Total Control through three additional devices — the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. With this announcement, end customers and businesses now gain even greater flexibility using Total Control.
Two versions of the URC Total Control Mobile iOS app are available now through the iTunes App Store: an iPad app and an iPhone/iPod touch app. The apps, which work in conjunction with Total Control systems, are available for end consumers to download to their iDevices. There is no per-device fee added. All apps downloaded are simply activated by the URC dealer for a nominal one-time setup fee of $199 MSRP. Once the app is activated, additional devices can be added, and updates can be implemented, by the end user at any time in the future for no additional charge.
“With Total Control Mobile, we took a unique approach to adding iDevices to a control system,” said Doug Cole, URC senior vice president and general manager. “Consumers are buying new and more devices all the time. We feel it is extremely important for our dealers and customers to be able not only to use our dedicated devices, such as our remotes, keypads and touchscreens, but also offer the ability to add iDevices easily as they go. With URC, clients get more devices for one low price. With our one-time fee, both dealers and customers can concentrate on more important things, such as getting more enjoyment and functionality out of their Total Control systems.”
Total Control Mobile duplicates the sophisticated yet intuitive user experiences and functionality found on URC’s Total Control remote controls and in-wall keypads and touchscreens, the company says. From multi-room music to movies, lighting, security, climate and beyond, end customers now have more Total Control interface options than ever before.
Like those dedicated control devices, the app works in conjunction with URC’s MRX-10 Advanced Network System Controller, the central engine of Total Control. Total Control Mobile can easily be integrated and programmed into a Total Control system by the dealer, using URC’s standard Accelerator programming suite. With one setup code implemented by the dealer on the MRX-10, the end user can activate and start living with Total Control Mobile within the home or business immediately.
To help dealers explain and sell Total Control Mobile to the client, URC has made a variety of selling tools available.
