QMotion’s line of motorized roller shades with ZigBee Home Automation 1.2 has spent the past few months on the road with systems partner Control4 in its custom Airstream on the “Smart Design, Smart Living” tour. The mobile showcase demonstrates how whole-home smart technology, like high-performance audio and 4K video entertainment, smart lighting and shading, and voice control, can work together in any residence.

The smart shading system inside of the Control4 custom Airstream is QMotion’s Qadvanced Motorized Roller Shades with ZigBee Home Automation v1.2. These shades are designed for homeowners needing a wireless, battery-operated shade with two-way communication. The system can be controlled via a Control4 control interface, the Control4 app on an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet, or via the QMotion QdR remote.
QMotion’s shade system features hardwired configuration utilizing standard Cat-5e or Cat-6 cabling for power and communication, eliminating the additional expense of proprietary cabling, and its built-in ZigBee capabilities do not require additional plugins. In addition to Control4, QMotion shade systems interface with leading home automation systems Vantage Controls, a brand of Legrand, as well as ELAN, RTI, Savant, and more.
