Fusion Research is debuting its new movie server, the Premiere-4, on the 10th anniversary of the introduction of its very first movie server. It’s a more powerful variant of its entry level model at an affordable price point.

“This is a culmination of our hard work over the years,” said Ingo Schmoldt, vice president of sales. “The Premiere-4 can support up to five discrete movies playing at the same time, is rack mountable, and seamlessly integrates with most of the major home automation solutions.”

All Fusion movie servers run on the company’s own proprietary, third-generation Epic platform that has been improved over the years. Designed from the ground up, all Fusion movie servers rely on the company’s own movie database and Blu-ray playback engine for stable and reliable performance. In addition to being purpose-built, all Fusion servers feature an “Add Your Own Storage” feature that allows users to grow their collections easily and affordably.

Unlike some non-proprietary movie solutions like Plex or XBMC, Fusion makes an exact back up of the entire DVD or Blu-ray, and the full disc structure is made available, allowing users to choose to begin their experience at the start of the movie or access the full disc with trailers, extra features, language choices, etc.

Integrators can add up to four zone players to a system to make the Premiere-4 a five-discrete-source movie system for use throughout a home. The Premiere-4, like all of Fusion’s Movie Servers, can easily be incorporated into most major automation systems.

Sold only through custom integration professionals, complete movie solutions start at $2,999 retail and have healthy margin structure, made even better for Fusion’s largest dealers with their Platinum Program.
