AmTRAN Video Corp. has introduced the new JVC-brand 42-inch SL42B-C and 47-inch SL47B-C BlackSapphire Razor-Edge E-LED HDTVs.

These two fully featured, high-performance models boast a nearly borderless image, along with the other heralded benefits of the BlackSapphire line, including XinemaSound 3D audio, built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi, I.C.E. Smart TV apps and a QWERTY keypad remote control.
Both models ship with four free pairs of XinemaView 3D, so the entire family can join in on the stereoscopic experience. In addition, both models are further enhanced by 120Hz CrystalMotion frame rates, adaptive edge LED backlighting, 20-million: 1 contrast ratio with dynamic processing for truly eye popping depth of imagery, and CrystalColor Enhancement.
“In addition to introducing our new Razor-Edge design, which removes the bezel from the picture and delivers an image that almost looks like a window into another world, the SL42B-C and SL47B-C also introduce two new screen sizes for the BlackSapphire line,” said Drew Pragliola, vice president of sales and marketing at AmTran Video Corp. “42- and 47-inch screens continue to be amongst the most popular screen sizes among consumers, and when you combine that with the awesome 3D capabilities of these two sets, not to mention their rich streaming app capabilities, these two new models may have the broadest appeal of any displays we’ve introduced to date.”
With the acclaimed Internet Connected Experience (I.C.E.) platform onboard, both the SL42B-C and SL47B-C offer viewers a rich ecosystem of connected content, with preloaded apps including Netflix, Vudu, and Pandora. Built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi access and a 10/100 Ethernet connection also ensure that connectivity is never an issue, and the TVs’ IR remote, complete with integrated QWERTY-style keyboard on the flipside, make navigation easy and intuitive.
For those who prefer a more direct connection to their personal pictures, music, and video collections, the SL42B-C and SL47B-C also include a USB media port for quick and easy access to your personal music, as well as three HDMI inputs with CEC (one with Audio Return Channel compatibility), an antenna input, component and composite video inputs, and a music port, as well as an Audio Only mode to conserve energy while you’re just listening to music. Other energy-saving features include Auto Power Off and full Energy Star certification. Both models also feature V-Chip 2.0 parental control and an interactive setup guide deigned to simplify installation.
Like all BlackSapphire models, the SL42B-C and SL47B-C also benefit from onboard Dolby Digital decoding and XinemaSound 3D, a rich digital signal processing platform. Equal Loudness Contours also ensure that bass remains rich and perceptually balanced at any volume, and Clear Dialog processing keeps voices front, center, and wholly intelligible at any listening level.
JVC-Kenwood has licensed AmTRAN Video Corporation (AVC) to manufacture and market the SL42B-C and SL47B-C BlackSapphire Razor-Edge E-LED HDTVs in North America.
The SL42B-C and SL47B-C will ship this summer for $799 and $899 SRP, respectively.
