Marantz VP-11S2 1080p DLP Projector by Jon Summer

How do you rate the VP-11S2?
A 10. The Marantz VP-11S2 is virtually set up out of the box and is extremely reliable.

For what applications is it best suited?
We use Marantz projectors in most of our

home theater installations. After successfully installing so many in the homes of my customers, the VP-11S2 is the projector I chose to install in my own home.

Describe its feature set.
The VP-11S2 carries a wide array of the latest video technologies like Texas Instruments’ Dark Chip4, 1080P capability, and Gennum processing, for example. It has outstanding brightness and the best ANSI contrast of any projector available. An HDMI 1.3 input allows for Deep Color support, and the quality of the Konica-Minolta lens is unmatched. Additionally, there are three optional, retrofitable anamorphic lens options and a wide range vertical lens shift mechanism that allows for mounting above the screen.

What features would you like to see changed?
The anamorphic lens assembly needs more cosmetic changes; it seems like an after thought. But that may be changing since Marantz recently introduced two new anamorphic lenses.
