Panamax/Furman will showcase its newly updated web-based power and energy management platform during CEDIA EXPO. In addition, the company will feature a sneak peek of the future of BlueBOLT, demonstrating how the platform can be extended wirelessly to direct plug-in devices.

Also on display will be the new MIW-SURGE-1G and the MD2 family of surge protectors.

CEDIA EXPO attendees will receive a sneak preview of how the benefits of BlueBOLT can be wirelessly extended to smaller point-of-use, direct plug-in devices. These devices provide an easy way for users to manage power and monitor the energy usage of more electronic devices throughout the home, giving them a larger picture of overall home energy consumption.

To help users conserve energy and lower their utility bills, BlueBOLT now greatly expands the energy management feature set, in addition to providing new control options, according to the company.

The BlueBOLT platform calculates the energy used by connected devices and reports it, historically and in real time, in kilowatt-hours as well as dollars. Users can also set energy budgets for their equipment and receive alerts when their usage is near or exceeding their allotted budget.

BlueBOLT now also includes an auto-reboot feature for networking equipment. With auto-reboot, outlets can be designed to automatically power-cycle when an Internet connection is lost, eliminating the all-too-common need to hard-reboot modems and routers.

Panamax/Furman also will be displaying the latest addition to its PFPower in-wall family: the MIW-SURGE-1G. Ideal for power and protection of flat-panel displays and other components located away from the main system rack or cabinet, the MIW-SURGE-1G features two surge-protected outlets with Protect or Disconnect circuitry and fits in any standard single-gang plastic or metal outlet box.

To ensure compatibility with most standard installations, the unit uses standard wiring device screw-hole alignment. An LED displays power status in green or a line fault in red. The MIW-SURGE-1G is also compatible with any Decora faceplate, allowing for seamless integration into any home theater design. MSRP of $49.95

Finally, at CEDIA EXPO 2010, Panamax will showcase the next generation of its M2 family of surge protectors: the MD2 family. The entire MD2 line is bolstered to include Panamax’s exclusive Protect or Disconnect circuitry while offering a new paintable cover and slim, unobtrusive design to complement any room. For a wide variety of home and office electronic equipment, each MD2 device offers two side-mounted AC outlets with EMI/RFI filtration circuitry for clean, unimpeded power.

The multi-use MD2 unit provides AC surge protection for computers, printers, copiers, appliances, and televisions. MSRP of $39.95.

Optimized for AC and telephone/LAN protection, the MD2-TL protects equipment such as modems, switches, phone systems, fax machines, and printers from electrical surges that travel over telephone or LAN lines. MSRP of $49.95.

For plasma/LCD displays, VCR/DVR components, cable modems, and set-top boxes, the MD2-C offers premium power filtration for improved picture and sound, and one pair of universal CATV/SAT/ANT ultra-low-loss connectors to protect equipment from electrical surges that travel over cable, satellite, and over-the-air antenna lines. MSRP of $49.95.

A new addition to the family, the MD2-CT combines AC, coaxial, and phone line protection in one compact device. Featuring in/out telco and coaxial connectors, the unit is ideal for televisions, VCR/DVR components, and satellite/cable set-top boxes. MSRP of $59.95.

Designed to deliver the signal from source components to remotely located A/V equipment such as projectors or subwoofers, the MD2-RCA offers three RCA input/outputs to protect equipment from electrical surges that travel over low-voltage RCA lines. For complete protection against signal cable transferrable surges and spikes, the MD2-RCA includes a grounding module with three more RCA inputs/outputs for grounding longer cable runs back to a power management component featuring a grounding binding post. MSRP of $69.95
