I learned a lot about an intriguing company called Atomoo (“uh-TOE-moo”) this morning during a webinar hosted by former custom installer and company co-founder Thad Glavin. In these difficult days for small business owners, it might be worth investigating what this one-year-old company could do to help you make money and increase the value of your business.
Atomoo, which is the Greek word for “bind together,” was created with the goal of connecting dealers indefinitely with their clients via recurring service plans for remotely monitoring and managing (RMM) the IT backbone that binds many of your projects together.
Glavin noted that his company, which has signed a couple notable deals in the past two months, is 100-percent focused on the CI channel offering RMM capabilities that are deployed on a platform that includes VoIP servers, home servers, Internet security, gateways, and management appliances. The company also offers network design/build services for dealers as well.
In addition to simply helping increase a CI business’ stabilizing cashflow, providing value to a potential buyer, and of course locking past customers to your services for life, Atomoo’s services are meant to eliminate the break/fix model that has become so unprofitable for our channel. Because a client’s home can essentially be remotely monitored via a custom “dashboard,” an integrator can anticipate IP-related system glitches, 24/7, reducing truck rolls and making service calls much more efficient when they are needed.
I’ll leave the real sales pitch and specifics to the folks at Atomoo to, but deployment of these services seems simple enough and the profit potential and value to a CI business working with a growing list of IP-enabled devices, seemed immeasurable. Give them a look if you haven’t already, and let me know what you think.
