Over Fall Break this past weekend with my 9- and 11-year-old daughters and wife, we took a little detour from our trip to Chicago and Ann Arbor, MI, to visit one of my favorite people in the custom integration business, Leon Speakers CEO Noah Kaplan.
I’d always wanted to see a live performance at the Leon Loft, but the timing didn’t work out during this trip. Noah, however, treated us to a tour of his amazing facility that blends handcrafted speaker construction, lean manufacturing, and touch of Bohemia. He was kind to my wife and kids, managing to make the tour fun and educational for kids, wives, and easily distracted magazine editors. Not for nothing, the place smelled like a spa, had music wafting throughout, and antiques and art everywhere.
What I’m showing you here Noah explaining how his company tries to minimize waste in its manufacturing process. It’s such a cool company.
