ProSource Presents Vendor of the Year Awards, State of the Industry at Spring Meeting

Latest initiatives for the buying group also discussed.

ProSource revealed the winners of the 2021 Vendor of the Year Awards at the annual Spring Meeting in San Antonio, held on May 18, 2022. The event also featured a rundown of the initiatives the group has undertaken, as well as an examination of the challenges and possibilities that are available to members.

ProSource presented the annual Vendor of the Year Awards at the 2022 Spring Meeting held in San Antonio.

2021 Vendor of the Year Awards

ProSource members were asked to vote using the following criteria for selecting the Vendors of the Year:

  • The vendor that, through engagement with the group, has helped their class of trade more than others in the category.
  • The vendor that has shown a continued commitment to developing products for their class of trade.
  • The vendor that has allocated the proper resources to ProSource members and can be exemplified as a company that is responsive and easy to do business with.
  • The vendor that has had the most positive financial effect on members’ performance in the category.

The 2021 Vendor of the Year honorees are:

  • Televisions/Displays – Samsung
  • Home Theater Solutions – JVC
  • Audio: Electronics – AudioControl
  • Audio: Speakers – Origin Acoustics
  • Audio: Headphones – Focal
  • Audio: Wireless Audio – Bluesound
  • CI Technology/Infrastructure – Control4
  • CI: Audio – Coastal Source
  • Lighting/Shades – DMF Lighting
  • Vendor of the Year – Sony
  • Support Vendor of the Year – ProSource University

State of the Industry

In the State of the Industry address, Workman went through the key initiatives that ProSource is working on, including ProSource University, ProSource Lighting Technology Certification, and ProSource Academy. Newer initiatives announced included ProSource Human Resources and the HR playbook.

As far as challenges and possibilities are concerned, Workman offered the following:

  • Supply chain challenges will improve but not enough to return to normal.
  • Growth rates will slow, especially for our retail dealers.
  • Demand appears to be holding up for now, but we expect this to soften.
  • Use this time to improve your business and grow your position in your marketplace.
