The 3 P’s of Being a Design Professional Project Partner

Learn to position yourself as a Smart Homes Project Partner with architects, interior designers, and builders. Build skills and knowledge to promote our industry using the CEDIA Outreach Instructor (COI) Program.

This session will cover:

  • How to understand and work with architects and designers
  • How to adapt your business to focus on being a project partner with design professionals, including key presentation skills and learning styles
  • How to build relationships with architects and designers and what to expect, as well as best social media practices

You’ll walk away with materials to help you effectively work with design professionals, including (but not limited to) new CEDIA CEU content and a business plan.

  • Why buy lighting through a CI integrator
  • Addressing control compatibility issues
  • Enhancing your clients’ homes
  • The value of lighting for each stakeholder
  • Stakeholder priorities and how to address them (from lighting designers to homeowners to electricians)
  • How to present lighting as a solution for all stakeholders to manage light in the home

You’ll learn how to tailor your sales approach for retrofit, fixture upgrades, and layout and lighting design upgrades. The goal is to be able to best highlight the things people love about their home through the lighting solutions you provide.
