Atlona Creates AVoIP Sales Team Atlona has created an AVoIP sales team to support its recently introduced OmniStream product line. The team features a combined experience of nearly 50 years in the pro AV industry. The new AVoIP team members include Michael Crisci, business development manager, in the U.S.; Reto Spörri, senior sales engineer in Zurich; and Seth Powell, sales engineer in the U.S. Michael Crisci, business development manager, Atlona OmniStream is a line of networked AV products designed for integrating and distributing 4K/UHD video, audio, and RS-232 control over gigabit ethernet networks employing off-the-shelf network switches. These models offer several industry-first features according to the company, including high density, dual-channel encoding and decoding; redundant AV networks and streams; encrypted content distribution; network-error resilience and broadcast-quality 4K video compression with very low latency. As business development manager, Crisci is responsible for building relationships and partnerships to develop business opportunities. He is based in New York. His more than 20 years of pro AV experience includes his most recent position at Labrador Technology, where he was the director of workplace technology. Before that, he held positions at Crestron (Northeast solutions engineer) Stewart Filmscreen (Eastern regional commercial sales manager) and Altell Systems (director of operations). He is a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS). He received a BA degree in history from Mercy College in New York. As senior sales engineer, Spörri, a 23-year veteran of the pro AV industry, is tasked with pre-sales and project support and training of all AVoIP products and solutions for Atlona employees and business partners, including sales teams, direct dealers, distributors, representatives, and consultants. In addition, he is responsible for creating and managing training materials, pre-sales support tools, and applications designs in accordance with current Atlona guidelines and certification standards. He is based in Zurich, Switzerland. Previous to Atlona, Spörri was an AV consultant at Intelliconcept, a Swiss company that engineers and designs AV, CCTV, IPTV, IT media, and digital signage systems, since February 2015. Before that, he split time as a technical support manager and an area sales manager at Barco in Switzerland over the course of 15 years. He has a Swiss federal diploma in audio-video electronics. As sales engineer, Powell is responsible for training and pre-sales support for sales teams and dealers for the OmniStream product line. He is based in Raleigh, NC. Reto Sporri, senior sales engineer in Zurich, Atlana Most recently, Powell was the sales applications engineer at Extron Electronics, where he designed and conducted troubleshooting of professional AV and control systems. He also was an instructor at Extron institutes where he conducted demos and trained resellers and new Extron applications engineers on the company’s product line.
