AudioControl, the Seattle-based manufacturer high-end audio/video equipment for music, home theater, car, and distributed audio systems, has appointed Alex Camara as its CEO. Former CEO Tom Walker will move into the role of chairman of the board and chief strategy officer, supporting the AudioControl management team, overseeing product engineering and development, and exploring future growth opportunities.

A veteran business, retail, and technology executive, Camara will provide leadership for AudioControl in continuing to deliver industry-leading products, drive business strategies, and improve operating excellence for ongoing growth, according to the company. He brings to AudioControl a passion for music, product innovation, exceptional customer experience, and operating discipline.
“Since AudioControl’s launch in 1977, we have been steadfast in our vision to deliver best-of-class audio/video solutions that enhance our customers lives and to ‘make good sound better,’” Walker stated. “Under Alex’s leadership, AudioControl will even more push the envelope in innovation and accelerate growth for the company in our home and car audio/video market as well as in new opportunities.”
Camara noted that AudioControl’s business potential is expanding strongly based on the solid foundation in place. “I am looking forward to working closely with our dealers and partners to create and deliver great products and services, as well as provide excellent value to our customers,” he said.
Throughout his 25-year career, Camara has held numerous high-level executive and leadership positions, bringing to AudioControl a blend of operational focus and business expertise. Before joining AudioControl, Camara was president of Camian, a company focused on working with companies to accelerate their high-growth strategies. Prior to that, he was president of NCR Entertainment leading one of NCR’s fastest growing business units. Preceding NCR, he served as president and GM at Coinstar, a pioneer in delivering high-growth, popular consumer services including Coinstar Coin-Counting and Redbox.
Audiocontrol supports 900 dealers in North America, and boasts distribution in more than 30 countries.
