Auralex Acoustics Outfits Hospital Media Room

The manufacturer has equipped the QEII Hospital Foundations Lifestyle Lottery Dream Home with its SonoSuede System.

Indianapolis, IN–Auralex Acoustics has equipped the media room in QEII Hospital Foundation’s Lifestyle Lottery Dream Home with its SonoSuede System.

QEII Hospital Foundation’s Lifestyle Lotterys Dream Home is a 5,000-square-foot luxury home located in Voyageur Lakes, Nova Scotia. The home features a full-service media room and is completely outfitted in Auralex Acoustics SonoSuede System. The room also includes a Panasonic Projector, a 110-inch Screen Innovations screen, an Onkyo receiver, a Velodyne subwoofer and B&W loudspeakers. The project was facilitated through Pacific Island Audio, Auralexs Canadian sales representative, and was installed by Fidelis Audio Visual Design.

The home theater system performs excellently, especially in conjunction with the Auralex treatment, said Marvin Davis, president of Fidelis Audio Visual Design. Since the media room is located in the basement, there were several acoustical challenges that needed to be addressed, such as taming first reflections and low frequency anomalies. Auralexs treatments were the ideal solution. So far, we have had nothing but positive responses. In fact, the theater is the most popular room in the house.

The SonoSuede System consisting of the HT and Pro models offers greater diversity and benefits while presenting a wider multitude of decorative options. The SonoSuede Pro System features four 16-inch x 48-inch x 2-inch thick back-bevelled panels predominantly used for corner trapping, and eight 16-inch x 48-inch x 1-inch rectangular-shaped back-bevelled panels for a total of 64 square feet. The SonoSuede HT System consists of four 16-inch x 48-inch x 2-inch thick back-bevelled panels and eight trapezoidal-shaped square-edge panels 16-inch x 48-inch x 1-inch, for a total of 54 square feet.

The QEII Hospital Foundation is the fundraising arm of the QEII Hospital, located in Nova Scotia, which provides a vital link to the thousands of individuals and organizations in the community and region that offer their support. As a Registered Canadian Charitable Organization, all donors receive an official tax receipt.

Proceeds from ticket sales were used to support a wide range of programs, research initiatives, new technologies and services at QEII Hospital. The two grand prize drawings, including the Voyageur Lakes home, valued at over $1 million and the second grand prize, a home in StoneRidge, valued at over $500,000, were recently announced and awarded to two lucky contestants on CTVs Live at 5. Both homes are fully furnished, decorated and landscaped.
