BitWise Controls, manufacturer of IP-enabled control products for commercial and home automation systems, has released BitWise Touch, a new app for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch.
BitWise Controls' BC4X1 automation controller
The app, combined with the company’s BC4X1 automation controller and Project Editor Software, allows users to control audio video equipment, automation systems, shades, lighting control, security systems, and any other device or system that can be controlled by IR, RS232 or IP.
Mark Buster, CTO of BitWise Controls said that his company’s app was designed with a few specific goals in mind. “Making it easy for installers to create customized control GUIs for Apple devices, making it quick and painless to transfer those files, and letting them install it on as many devices as they want without additional license fees,” he stated. “Additionally, the same GUI files created for use with the BitWise Touch app can be run on virtually any device with a web browser, like notebooks, web tablets, and desktop computers.”

Bitwise Touch utilizes Project Editor Software to create completely customizable GUI pages that are uploaded to the iPad or iPhone. One project can contain control pages designed to fit multiple screen sizes. Each page can look the same for a consistent look and feel through the entire project or a customized look and feel can be created for each control device used.
Basic button and background graphics are available from the BitWise website, but customized graphics, available from many third-party graphics companies, can also be used to add visual appeal or to customize the project to a particular job or client.
