Capitol Expands Availability of Sony Products to its Midwestern Dealers

Capitol is now offering Sony audio/video products to its customers in nine areas of the Midwestern U.S.

Consumer electronics and residential systems distributor Capitol is now offering Sony audio/video products to its customers in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and southern Illinois, bringing the total number of states where Sony products are available to Capitol’s dealer and installer customers to nine. The distributor currently offers Sony products to select dealers in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and the western portion of Wisconsin.

“The least surprising element of our relationship with Sony is how popular it is with our dealers in eligible regions,” said Curt Hayes, president and CFO at Capitol. “The Sony name resonates with end users as a company that consistently offers groundbreaking products and technologies that are often seen as setting the bar for the entire market. Our dealers who carry the Sony line confirm every day that it is a crucial element in their success.”

Sony products encompass audio, video, and digital imaging, including the HTST5 HD Soundbar with wireless subwoofer, delivering 7.1 channels of high-performance audio from seven discrete digital amplifiers and nine speakers. Sony also offers a new line of high-resolution audio products, including the MDR1A premium over-ear headphone.

“Capitol understands the needs of the independent and regional dealers who are more likely to have ongoing relationships with their customers, and are there in need of very specific solutions to each of their clientele’s interests,” said Frank Sterns, vice president A/V specialty, custom integration, at Sony. “We’re looking forward to this expansion of our work with Capitol, associating our products with one of the leading CE and CI distributors in the business.”

As is the policy with Sony products, eligible dealers must first be certified before having access to the consumer electronics products offered by the manufacturer.
