The deadline for the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Designer Awards competition arrives on May 6 at 5 p.m. PST.
The competition allows electronic systems contractors the chance to highlight their best work, with categories including home theater, integrated home, media room, hidden installation, special project, show room, and sustainable lifestyle installation.
Designer Awards entries in the home theater, media room, integrated home, and sustainable lifestyle installation categories will also be contenders for the HGTVPro.com People’s Pick awards. Visitors to HGTVPro.com will be able to vote for their favorite projects beginning in August, and the winners will be recognized at the Electronic Lifestyles Awards Banquet at CEDIA EXPO 2011.
CEDIA is also accepting nominations for the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes an individual who has exhibited creative, visionary leadership in the growth and advancement of the residential electronic systems industry. Nominations are evaluated on the basis of achievement and service within the industry.
The deadline for submitting entries to the Manufacturers’ Excellence Awards is June 10 at 5 p.m. PST. Manufacturers can also enter products to the Attendees’ Choice Award competition. Products must be released in the market in 2011 to be eligible to compete. CEDIA EXPO attendees will cast their vote at CEDIA EXPO. The deadline for entering is Friday, July 29 at 5:00 p.m. PST.
In addition, CEDIA will be offering a webinar on April 21 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern, led by Steve Moore of SM Contracts Limited. Titled “Commoditization: from Threat to Opportunity,” the webinar will look at current trends and recommend ways companies can diversify to embrace new opportunities.
