CEDIA has announced that CEDIA members will be able to access discounted security training through a new partnership with SecurityCEU.com. SecurityCEU.com has more than 100 hours of online content and provides licensing, compliance, certification, and continuing education solutions for the security, fire, and life safety industry.
The SecurityCEU.com courses cover foundational training for professionals entering the converging worlds of security and home automation. Additional SecurityCEU.com benefits include the ability for CEDIA members to earn CEUs as well as gain and maintain state security licenses and certifications. SecurityCEU.com also offers a full Compliance Management System (CMS) helping to provide automation of the licensing process, as well as full metrics and measurement.
“According to the most recent CEDIA Size and Scope survey, 49 percent of home technology professionals are installing security systems and 92 percent of home technology professionals reported some installation for video surveillance,” said Matt Oelker, CEDIA director of online learning. “There is huge growth potential in this market for our members and partnering with an organization that can help them establish a baseline to start doing this work is a valuable member benefit.”
