Core Brands Promotes Director of Builder Sales

Bret Jacob to Develop Channel Programs for Home, Commercial Building Segments

Underscoring its commitment to accelerate growth in the builder channel, Core Brands has promoted Bret Jacob to director of builder sales, with responsibility for developing and implementing the company’s channel programs in the home and commercial building segments. In this new position, Jacob reports directly to Core Brands vice president of sales Jeff Costello.

In his new role, Bret brings together his knowledge of control, CI channel experience, and passion to significantly scale our builder channel business. Bret is absolutely the ideal person for this important new role.”

Jacob recently celebrated his 15-year anniversary with ELAN and Core Brands. During this time he advanced to Eastern regional director of sales and has become an industry authority on residential and commercial market smart control technology. “I am excited to leverage the many advantages Core Brands brings to our customers, and I look forward to working closely with dealers to accelerate our mutual growth in the builder channel,” Jacob said. “Core Brands has the right combination of control, entertainment, and power products—along with great channel partnerships—to bring complete solutions to builders. My entire focus for the past 15 years has been dedicated to the support and growth of the integrators I serve in the CI channel. I am particularly looking forward to supporting our top ELAN dealers around the country with their existing builder relationships while helping them to generate new relationships.”

Jacob has more than 30 years of experience in the AV and control industry with manufacturers as well as residential and commercial installation companies. His career started in retail audio, followed by a seven-year stint in the United States Army Band, where he had the opportunity to perform in U.S. and Europe while receiving an education in audio engineering. After his service in the Army, Jacob held technical, project management, and sales positions with the Seattle, WA contractor, Signal Communications and System Controls. Prior to joining ELAN, Jacob was the founder and managing partner of the Seattle-based integrator, Tech One Services, where he managed the installation of systems in many of the landmark homes and buildings in the Pacific Northwest.
