Draper Eliminates Black Drop with Ropewalker

Ropewalker Lowers a Motorized Screen Housing from the Ceiling Using Durable Steel Cables

Draper has added Ropewalker, the latest innovation in projection screens designed for large venues. Ropewalker lowers a motorized screen housing from the ceiling using durable steel cables. A motorized projection screen will descend from the housing to an appropriate height for the audience while creating a solution without black space between the screen and the ceiling.

Ropewalker can lower the screen housing up to 34 feet, making it ideal for most large venues, including houses of worship, ballrooms, gymnasiums, or architecturally appealing rooms. Available with tension and non-tensioned viewing surfaces up to 18 feet high and 18 feet wide, the Ropewalker features the optically seamless TecVision, which are engineered for high contrast, precise resolution, color accuracy and the broadest possible view cone while providing superior quality, consistency and uniformity.

“At Draper, we design and manufacture innovative solutions that provide best-in-class remedies supporting the simplest to the most complex project requirements,” said Jentry Wittkamper, product manager and export sales manager for Draper Inc. “At InfoComm 2017, we received overwhelming feedback from our customers regarding the Ropewalker and its problem-solving design. Since then, we have released minor updates to the Ropewalker that enhance the design and technology behind our floating projection screens and we’re pleased to announce we will be taking orders on the Ropewalker following InfoComm 2018.”
