The Guild Integrators Alliance has announced Lightworks of San Diego as its newest member, welcoming founder and CEO Troy Dunnington, CFO Glen Keoghan, and their team to the organization.
Founded in 2001, Lightworks grew from a partnership between Dunnington, an electrician with a passion for lighting, and lighting designer Todd Walling. The company was bringing electrical, lighting design, motorized shading, AV, and controls together under one roof long before multidisciplinary integration became commonplace in luxury residential design. Today, Lightworks continues to build on that foundation while expanding its expertise in power and energy management.
“Lightworks feels very naturally aligned with where the Guild is going,” says Russell Radke, principal at Premiere Systems in Chicago and representative of the Guild Membership Committee. “They have tremendous technical depth, but what really got our attention was their culture. They believe in developing people, sharing what they know, and continually getting better. There’s a lot they can learn from this group, and a lot this group can learn from them. And that exchange is really the whole point.”
That culture is perhaps best illustrated by Lightworks University, the company’s in-house professional development program, which creates structured pathways for employees to grow from apprentices into technical experts, project leaders, and company leadership.
Lightworks also comes to the Guild with deep, long-standing relationships across the industry, including with David Weinstein of Lutron, who has known Dunnington and the Lightworks team for many years. “I have had the pleasure of working closely with Troy Dunnington and his team for over 20 years,” says Weinstein. “Through his passionate commitment to growth through innovation, relationship building, and cross-industry collaboration, Troy has built a best-in-class residential systems business across both low voltage and line voltage disciplines.”

Lightworks has already begun participating in Guild initiatives, with Dunnington joining fellow members on a Partner Summit trip to Lutron’s Design Center in Toronto, Canada, earlier this month and both Lightworks principals joining the rest of the Guild at the Alliance’s Annual Retreat in Montana this Fall.
