The Guild Appoints Liz Birch as Its First-Ever Executive Director

The move pairs an annual, rotating president from a member firm with a continuous executive director.

The Guild Integrators Alliance has announced the appointment of Liz Birch as its first-ever executive director. The decision emerged from the annual Principals Summit, held this year in New York City, where owners and principals from all member firms gather to set the agenda and initiatives for the year.

The Guild Integrators Alliance has announced the appointment of Liz Birch as its first-ever executive director.

The move formalizes professional leadership for the organization — pairing an annual, rotating president from a member firm with a continuous executive director. Together, this dual leadership structure is designed to strengthen The Guild’s impact, visibility, and value to its members, partners, and the broader design and construction community.

“Hiring an executive director signals the next chapter for The Guild,” says John Palser, current Guild president and principal / CEO of Denizen. “Liz has already been instrumental in helping us tell our story — from co-creating 2023’s Dream World documentary, to launching our technical Field Guides, and most recently supporting the Let’s Move Mountains trade partner benefit that raised over $90K for youth mentorship program SOS Outreach. She brings strategy, creativity, and proven execution — and now she’ll channel those strengths into guiding The Guild every day.”

Birch previously co-owned a branding and marketing firm, where she worked with high-level clients such as Obermeyer Skis, the Chicago Stars, Sonance, and more. Since 2017, she has partnered with The Guild on marketing, communications, and brand initiatives that have elevated the organization’s visibility both inside and outside the integration industry. As executive director, she will now oversee operations, member engagement, partner relations, ongoing marketing efforts, and new strategic initiatives — all while continuing to champion The Guild’s mission: representing the highest standard of excellence in technology integration.

“This role is about amplifying what already makes The Guild special,” says Birch. “Our member firms aren’t just experts in technology — they’re trusted collaborators and go-to resources for a larger community of architects, builders, designers, and clients of course. My job is to ensure The Guild stays focused, connected, and consistently driving toward its goals, while expanding our influence in the industries we touch.”
