The company has tapped Margo Allen to help with its entrance into the commercial and MDU markets in Greater Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.

Bellevue, WA– HTI is expanding its core business of designing and installing integrated systems for the residential marketplace to commercial and MDU markets in the Greater Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest as a whole.

Acknowledging that condos and other multi-dwelling units (MDUs) are being built in ever increasing numbers as more people come to embrace urban lifestyles as an alterative to suburban living, HTI has launched a new business unit to serve the market segment.

Craig Carman, VP for sales and marketing for HTI said that Margo Allan, a highly regarded industry professional with more than 20 years of experience with some of the nation’s top firms, will lead the new unit.

“Because of Margo’s solid record of achievement in high tech, business entertainment, real estate, and retail with Fortune 500 companies such as Starbucks, Nordstrom, Wal-Mart, State Farm, and Toys R Us, we regard her as just the right person to lead this strategic business initiative,” said Carman.

As the director of sales, MDU for HTI, Allan’s experience in business development, strategic sales, partner alliance formation, leadership, and management make her particularly suited for the new position. Her experience in the technology and image industries allow her to translate conceptual design requirements into cutting edge, fully integrated technological solutions for new high tech buildings that require high-end integrated systems.

“The market is ripe for the introduction of integrated technology in to the high-rise condo market,” said Allan. “This is the Year of the Condo. There is a huge, new emphasis on building high-rise communities in Seattle, Bellevue, Portland, as well as up and down the west coast. The new HTI is going to a big part of that. There is a real need in this area for a technology partner that understands the home environment as well as the developer’s business model.”

HTI is also taking a leadership role in the new Green initiatives that are an important part of planning for developments in Seattle and other cities in the region. Environmental concerns are having an increasingly more material influence on developments across the nation. This reality is no more evident than in the high rise condo living space here in the Pacific Northwest.

“To this end, we’re working with shading and lighting systems that are energy efficient, so that the overall use of energy in a building is reduced,” said Allan. The programming HTI offers is energy efficient and environmentally aware. Shades rise or lower as determined by a well designed computer program, customized to a given location. Air conditioning is also automated for energy conservation. HTI provides a full integrated system that links shading, heating, lighting for maximum efficiency.
