Colorado Springs, CO–Liberty Wire & Cable has appointed Andy Bergdoll to the post of president and chief executive officer.
Bergdoll joins Liberty from USFilter, a subsidiary of Siemens AG, where he has held progressively responsible positions around the world since joining them in 1993. He brings extensive general management experience as well has hands-on functional experience in sales, marketing, new product development, sourcing, and materials management to his new role at Liberty. He was part of the original management team at USFilter that grew the company from $50 million to over $1 billion in revenue prior to its sale to Siemens last year. Prior to moving to Colorado, where he resides, Bergdoll was based in Singapore where he built and ran USFilters Asia Pacific operations.
Before joining USFilter, Bergdoll was a senior associate with the consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Previous to that he held various engineering and management positions with General Electric in their Lighting and Space Systems divisions.
The Pennsylvania native will replace Gary A. Michelson, the companys founder. According to Michelson, “The criteria used in the selection process included seeking a fully qualified executive with the experience, talent, creativity and vision to take Liberty Wire & Cable to what we define as the next level.”
