Linear Restructuring Sales Force

Linear has expanded and restructured its field sales force to create synergy between some of its key brands.

Carlsbad, CA–In an effort to create synergy between some of its key brands and to enhance service to its many customers, Linear has expanded and restructured its field sales force.

Linear has assembled a new and larger sales team responsible for AirVac central vacuum systems, ChannelPlus whole house audio/video distribution systems, Linear Access entry and access controls, Linear Security emergency reporting and security systems, M&S Systems Xtreme digital music systems, music/communications systems, and speaker systems, and OpenHouse structured wire systems. Many of these brands and products are also part of packages included in the Linear builder program for constructors of production homes.

“This just makes sense from an organizational standpoint,” notes Gary Baker, Linears new vice president of sales. “We will have a multi-tiered nationwide network to handle sales and support. For now, it includes 14 regional managers, two national sales managers, and two national accounts managers; however, we expect to add two additional sales positions in the near future.”

Linear vice president of marketing, Chuck Stevens, identified multiple benefits of this new approach. “Having special account managers means more individual attention to customers, more communication with our sales channels, more assistance for dealers using our products, more training for installers, and more timely exposure to new product releases and introductions for these six product lines.”

In recent years, Linear, through acquisition, expanded into consumer electronics, home entertainment products, and structured wiring systems for the builder market. In addition to the aforementioned brands, other recent acquisitions have included: ELAN Home Systems multi-room audio/video equipment; Niles whole house audio/video distribution and integration products; OmniMount audio/video equipment mounting solutions; Panamax power conditioning products for home entertainment and home office electronics; SpeakerCraft and Proficient Audio Systems speakers and electronics; and Xantech infrared remote controls for home entertainment systems.
