Pakedge Device & Software now offers its WAP-O3G Outdoor Ultra High Power Wireless Access Point (WAP), designed specifically for optimum performance and extreme durability in outdoor custom installation applications.

WAP-O3G Outdoor Ultra High Power Wireless Access Point.

The WAP-O3G extends a home network to outdoor areas around a house or building, and also works as a wireless bridge between a main network and any additional networks in nearby buildings, such as a guest house or pool house.

The WAP-O3G features a rugged, weatherproof aluminum housing that protects from harsh outdoor environments while also blocking RF interference and providing heat dispersion via its integral heat fins. It offers ultra high power 802.11b/g operation, and VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) and multiple SSID support, enabling a wireless network to be separated for maximum efficiency and for difference clients such as computers, touch panels and guest networks.

“The WAP-O3G delivers powerful, reliable outdoor wireless home networking capability,” said Victor Pak, president and CEO of Pakedge. “As many dealers and customers know, getting wireless connectivity outdoors from a wireless router that’s located indoors can be difficult, frustrating or often just impossible. The WAP-O3G is the ideal solution.”

The Pakedge WAP-O3G is optimized for custom installation applications. It has a vertical and horizontal antenna gain pattern and dual antennas that can be aimed, and provides a transmission and reception coverage range of approximately one acre. The WAP-O3G features adjustable power output and range via its web interface. It has a proprietary XTP touch panel mode for performance with touch panels and other control devices and to enable seamless roaming in and around the home.

The WAP-O3G can be pole or wall mounted and connects to a network via a single Cat 5e cable, which also provides power for the device. It is fully 802.3af compliant and can be powered by any compliant PoE switch on the market.

Other features include short-circuit protection, the ability to operate in Wireless Access Point (WAP), Wireless Bridge, Wireless Repeater and Wireless Distribution System (WDS) modes, universal worldwide operation, remote management and configuration capability and many additional capabilities. In addition, the WAP-O3G supports the latest security standards.
