Russound has added an Android version of its My Russound App (MRA-3), available now on the Google Play online app store and priced at $9.99.
Similar to the recently updated iOS 7 version of the app available on iTunes, the Android version of the My Russound App controls the Russound C-Series multiroom audio system and all connected sources from the comfort and convenience of an Android device. It features the same functionality and control of Russound’s C-Series controllers, DMS 3.1 media streamer, and soon-to-launch XStream X5 system.
Once installed, the app turns the Wi-Fi-enabled Android device into a hand-held remote control for the whole house. It provides users full control of all audio zone functions, including source selection, modes, tone controls, volume, power, and other commands. Users can also enjoy full metadata and bi-directional content browsing from their Android as well as control of streaming media content. And the app features customizable, user-defined settings for a more personalized experience.
“The My Russound app is a proven winner with end-users who appreciate the convenience and functionality of controlling their Russound whole-house audio systems with their smartphones,” said Charlie Porritt, CEO of Russound. “With the popularity of Android growing every day, we focused on extending the benefits of the My Russound app to this ever-expanding user base, and we are proud to offer it as yet another benefit of a Russound system.”
The app is designed for a 2.3 version Android operating system or later. Similarly, it requires a Russound C-Series controller with 7.00.02 version firmware or later. Systems using a DMS 3.1 media streamer will need 5.00.05 version firmware or later. In addition, it is only supported on the MCA-C3 and MCA-C5 series of multiroom audio controllers.
