Solar Power International 2011 (SPI 2011) will take place October 17-20 at the Dallas Convention Center.

Presented by Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) and Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), SPI 2011 is designed to serve and advance the solar electric power industry. SPI is expected to draw more than 24,000 professionals representing over 128 countries.

Sprawling across 1.1 million gross square feet within the Dallas Convention Center, SPI features more than 1,100 international and U.S. exhibitors and a conference program spanning five professional tracks. The annual showcase is the epicenter for all that is new in solar and has consistently been the comprehensive event to promote, launch, sell and demonstrate products and services in North America for the global solar industry.

The conference also features three general sessions including a keynote address by Magic Johnson, former basketball legend and current business leader on Monday, October 17 at 5:00 p.m., and a motivational presentation by Marcus Buckingham, a New York Times bestselling author and business speaker on Thursday, October 20 at 8:30 a.m. An executive panel is also planned for Wednesday morning. Additionally, 36 conference programs will feature tracks in policy, finance, markets, Texas markets, system design, and integration: deployment/grid.

According to a survey conducted at the 2010 conference, 74 percent of exhibitors indicated SPI is a “must-attend” event.

“Solar Power International 2011 is a critical event for solar industry professionals, utility executives, investors, technical experts as well as policy makers who are interested in the latest solar technology, discovering emerging markets, and identifying business prospects,” said Julia Hamm, president of SEPA. Recent statistics indicate 2010 marked the most significant strides for the U.S. solar market, with a total market value of $6 billion as of 2010 and the number of panel installations doubling from 2009.”

“Solar energy is the fastest growing industry in America and there will be no better place for industry players from around the world to see the challenges and opportunities for the U.S. market than Solar Power International,” said Rhone Resch, president and CEO of SEIA. “We are proud that SPI is the largest and most comprehensive solar trade show in North America and excited to host yet another world-class event. Simply put, if you want your company to be successful in the rapidly growing U.S. solar market, then SPI in Dallas is the must-attend conference for you in 2011.”
