Savant Systems has approved Sony Electronics Inc. for its Excellence in A/V cooperative initiative, which was created to enable global compatibility between Savant’s control systems and a diverse group of manufacturers from the audio, video, lighting control, HVAC, and security industries, as well as devices and subsystems from many related markets.
Sony’s ES (Elevated Standard) product lineup, including A/V receivers and the industry’s only 400-disc Blu-Ray Disc/DVD/CD MegaChanger, are fully compatible with Savant’s control and entertainment platform.
“Sony’s ES product line is widely used throughout the CEDIA community and Savant is thrilled to provide our dealers with control compatibility through our Excellence in A/V Program,” Savant’s director of business development Bob Ross stated. “Savant’s versatile iPad control and entertainment app is just one of several interfaces that can now be utilized to control Sony ES components.”
The core of Savant’s technology is an open programmable platform supporting UDP/IP, TCP/IP, RS-232/422/485 and IR serial communication, and low-voltage trigger outputs.
