Oldsmar, FL–The professional designation of Certified Digital Home Technology Integrators (DHTI+) was awarded to Shawn L. Smith, vice president, and Suzanne Colson, home systems designer, of S&S Electric by CEA-CompTIA–a newly formed alliance between the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) TechHome Division and the Computing Technologies Industry Association (CompTIA) created to validate expertise in configuration, integration, troubleshooting and maintenance of digital home networks.
Industry experts and professionals from around the world were invited by CEA-CompTIA to participate in the BETA/Pilot Certification Program to evaluate and guide its development. As a result, Smith and Colson have distinguished themselves among the world’s first 200 Certified Digital Home Technology Integrators, making S&S Electric one of only a handful companies in the world to employ DHTI+ certified individuals.
“CEA-CompTIA DHTI+ is the premier certification for demonstrating competency in installing the products and various applications comprising today’s digital home platforms,” said Kerry Moyer, executive director, CEA TechHome. “The growth in digital home technology not only enhances consumers’ lifestyles, it places new demands on technology integrators.”
To receive certification, an applicant must obtain 18-24 months of experience in related systems integration field work culminating in a rigorous 90 minute, 97 question exam.
