The EDGE Distributors Group Expands, Adds Products

The organization has unveiled new education programs as well as signed with PlanetWaves.

Seattle, WA--The EDGE Distributors Group, a service-oriented group of 14 independently owned regional distributors catering primarily to custom install and residential systems integrators, seeks to capitalize on its continued growth by bringing custom integrators additional product lines and member distribution partners, plus continued educational efforts, beginning this Fall through 2008.

So far this year, The EDGE Group has brought on product lines from Planet Waves, Pinnacle, VizionWare, and DLO. In addition, the group has expanded their NEC flat video display offerings by taking on the brands new high-end Multeos LCD monitors. The EDGE Group also added new metro-New York distribution member, New York Edge.

Earlier this year, The EDGE Group reached more than 850 custom integrators with its Planar / Furman Sound showcase / training tour and Dallas-based Consumer Electronics Expo. Mike Hench, president of The EDGE Group said, With the success of this years training programs, we will continue to be aggressive in the education arena. It has proven to greatly benefit our vendor partners and custom integrators. Going forward, we plan to offer courses to help our custom integrators run their business more efficiently and profitably.

The EDGE Group, with Steve Firszt of Fast-Forward Business Coaching, will be hosting business management seminars for custom integrators. The program focuses on helping business owners learn to manage for greater margins and profitability, while also growing sales and becoming more organizationally efficient. Said Firszt, Todays business environment demands more than product knowledge and installation expertise. Stronger management practices make for stronger custom integrators. From this, the custom integrator, manufacturer and homeowner all benefit.

Hench said, As we continue to grow, we are looking to add value-added component and accessory lines that contribute to our complementary line philosophy. We are also seeking new distribution partners to fill open territories, specifically Ohio, West Virginia, Minnesota and North and South Dakota.

Charter EDGE Group member Ron Throckmorton, principal of R.J. Throckmorton (Mid-west) has purchased land in Eureka Industrial Park, Eureka, Missouri, where his new facility is now under construction. Located on the I-44 corridor at the Six Flags Amusement Park exit and within 1/8 mile of the Interstate Highway, his companys facility will include a warehouse, showroom, training facility, loading docks and even a drive-in door, for a total of 17,000 square feet. Throckmorton expects the new facility to be open this fall.

The company also recently announced a new relationship with D'Addario & Companys Planet Waves custom installation products division.

Effective immediately, the Planet Waves HD 24 carat gold-plated solderless and Ni nickel-plated connectors; high-definition bulk cable, Tools and Cable Management custom installation products will be available through The EDGE Distributors Group.
