URC Unveils New Logo and Company Tagline

Universal Remote Control Inc. has unveiled a new “URC” logo focused and tagline, “Control the Experience,” to reflect its evolution into products beyond remote controls.

“‘Remote’ truly is our middle name, and that will never change,” URC director of marketing Jon Sienkiewicz said. “But our logo, like our company, is changing. This year, we are growing beyond home theater control and into whole-house control. Our new logo reflects our readiness to show URC dealers and installers entirely new ways to help their clients control their digital experiences, and communicates that those ways are not limited just to our remotes.”

The first pieces of URC’s whole-house transformation are in place, according to the company. The existing MX-6000 Touch Screen and MX-5000 Remote are native to IP networks, in that they can directly control both IP devices like PCs, Macs, IP AV receivers, lighting, and energy management, as well as traditional AV components like TVs, disc players, and stereo systems.

Next month, at Electronic House Expo (EHX), URC plans to formally introduce its first in-wall keypad system, consisting of a color touchscreen and base station.
