URC Unveils Two-Way Control Modules for Nest, Lutron

New modules expand versatility of URC Total Control and ccGEN2TM two-way whole-house home automation systems.

URC has developed a new two-way control module for Nest, Lutron Caseta Wireless, and Aprilaire products.

“On the heels of the two-way control modules we recently announced for Honeywell Vista, Philips Hue, Sonos, and Zodiac’s iAqualink, we’re delighted to announce even more modules here at CEDIA EXPO 2014,” said Cat Toomey, URC’s director of marketing. “The new drivers for Nest, Lutron Caseta Wireless lighting, and Aprilaire thermostats are living testimony to our steadfast pledge to keep our automation systems fresh and compatible with what our dealers and the market demand.”

Nothing says whole-house automation like onscreen real-time feedback on a variety of user interfaces. To that end, URC has added approximately seventy-five new, fully tested and certified integration modules over the past year for Total Control. Adding to these drivers, URC recently announced a new Software Development Kit (SDK) for qualified URC dealers to develop their own two-way modules for Total Control. This SDK is delivered along with comprehensive “how-to” videos and a programming manual.

Cat added, “We’ve beefed up our Partner Program in entirely new ways, and the delivery of these numerous dealer-requested solutions, one after the other, is proof that it’s working and exciting for all involved.”

Total Control by URC offers home and business owners unprecedented ease and efficiency. Technologically, it features the latest in innovation and simplicity. Fully scalable, users can begin with a modest system and continue to add features as their needs expand. Home theater, AV components, lighting, HVAC (thermostat), window shades, and security cameras are just a few of the items that can be integrated into a Total Control system from URC.

ccGEN2 is a complete two-way, IP-based product line that parlays URC’s years of experience and leadership in the one-way control and home entertainment arena with its Complete Control line, and builds upon the success of the multiple-award-winning Total Control home automation system. To assure unfettered success and maximum end-user experience for every installation, dealers applying to sell ccGEN2 products must pass a thorough certification process and receive approved training. ccGEN2 products, with few exceptions, are not compatible with URC’s one-way, RF/IR Complete Control system or with Total Control products.
