Theory Audio Design has announced its ic5 high-output in-ceiling loudspeaker. Little brother to the ic6 (6.5-inch in-ceiling loudspeaker), the ic5 (5-inch in-ceiling loudspeaker) offers high performance from a smaller aperture.
A discreet and highly capable solution, the ic5 is designed for residential or commercial installations, surround sound, or distributed audio, and, due to its sealed design and optional all-weather grille, it offers specifiers and installers a fantastic solution for outdoor applications including marine. ic5 offers a maximum output of 108 dB thanks to the advanced polymer compression drivers and 5-inch carbon fiber woofer. For large, distributed installs, the ic5 includes a switch-selectable 70V/100v transformer that can be driven direct by Theory’s DLC Series Loudspeaker Controllers.
ic5 will begin shipping worldwide later this month. At CEDIA Expo 2025, Theory will offer memorable demonstrations of the ic5 in HPA 202. Attendees can also stop by Theory booth #2933 to see the ic5 up close.
