Dillinger Labs, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eleven Engineering, has updated its Death From Below SKAA-enabled, battery-powered mobile subwoofer. With an MSRP of $899.99 (USD), pre-orders are now being taken for Death From Below Mk2, which is scheduled to ship this summer.

“Since DFB’s launch in 2023, it has garnered tremendous success from our customers,” says Rex Whitehead, Dillinger Labs president. “However, a few of our customers suggested some enhancements, and we listened. In total, we made 50 refinements for DFB Mk2. Some were foundational, such as to the ports and acoustic chamber. Others were little things like making the power button white so you can easily find it in a dark room. The lion’s share of the refinements add up to an extra 6 dB SPL of clean bass. Mk2 is way louder, and it’s also way clearer. We just made the best even better.”
Designed for Dillinger Labs by Eleven Engineering in its Canada HQ, Death From Below Mk2 works with all SKAA Transmitters, all SKAA Pro Transmitters, and all SKAA Nadja Hubs, including Electrotec Audio STAGE ONE, Soundboks 3, 4, and Go, and Wet Sounds Portable mobile speaker solutions. Pro-grade SKAA wireless audio, 100% Bluetooth-free, and 100% Wi-Fi free, Dillinger Labs didn’t just take an AC-powered sub and strap a battery on it. DFB Mk2 is built and optimized from the ground up to be a battery speaker. No shortcuts. No lack of performance compared to traditional speakers.

“A carefully choreographed dance of cutting-edge electrical, acoustical, and battery engineering makes DFB Mk2 awesome,” Whitehead continues. “A built-in bank of eight ultra-fast film capacitors jacks up DFB Mk2’s performance by giving its amps instant access to energy when needed. That is, by ensuring the amps are never starved for power, the resulting enhanced impulse response is what’s behind DF Mk2B’s extra-ballsy bass punch. Double the punch with no battery life hit.”
DFB Mk2 can, and should, be used to complement virtually any full-range PA speaker. Already have a high-end speaker that you love? No worries! Any powered speaker, such as QSC, JBL, Electro-Voice (EV), Mackie, etc., can be converted to SKAA wireless just by adding a pro receiver such as Streetheart by Dillinger Labs. Use up to four SKAA receivers (any combination of Death From Below Mk2 and any other SKAA receivers) at the same time with any one SKAA transmitter.
SKAA is the wireless HiFi audio standard developed by Eleven Engineering. SKAA transmitters work with iOS and Android mobile devices, Mac and Windows computers, televisions, and just about any product with a line output or a headphone jack. SKAA is also available as a built-in technology not requiring an external transmitter in purpose-designed partner products, which are featured at SKAA.com. SKAA navigates hostile environments saturated in wireless traffic with best-in-class reliability. With SKAA, the receivers (speakers/headphones) are in charge of selecting which transmitter to listen to. There’s no pairing.
