NextLevel Acoustics Adds to Cinema Series Speakers

The two new horn-based models include the Reference Cinema and the larger Cinema Pro.

NextLevel Acoustics is increasing its home theater LCR offerings with additions to the Cinema Series, including two horn-based solutions that break conventional rules of speaker price, performance, and size.

Next. Level Acoustics Reference Cinema LCR

Available now, the Series consists of two models – the Reference Cinema (MSRP $2499 each) and the larger Cinema Pro (MSRP $4999 each). Using an MTM (midrange tweeter midrange) array, the Reference Cinema utilizes super light and stiff dual 8-inch carbon wool mid-woofers with a butyl rubber surround, and a large 4×4-inch compression horn tweeter. The Pro Cinema model is equipped with quad 8-inch carbon wool mid-woofers coupled to a 4×4-inch compression horn tweeter, bringing commercial-grade cinema performance to larger home theaters.

Designed by NextLevel’s chief designer/engineer John Sollecito — well known for audiophile designs such as the JSE Infinite Slope speakers and crossovers — utilizing a no-compromise design approach, the speakers deliver high-impact, clear cinematic sound with very wide dispersion.

The Cinema speakers are also efficient and easy to drive. With a sensitivity rating of up to 99 dB they can achieve high-impact, commercial-grade sound pressure levels (up to a staggering 122 dB) with great clarity due to their low distortion of only < 0.1%. Plus, they use a proprietary audiophile-grade crossover that not only blends the ultra-fast mid/woofers with the horn tweeter, but also virtually eliminates first-order horn reflection artifacts.

The speaker’s compact, sealed, all-MDF cabinet ensures consistently superior sonic results, as well as a high degree of installation flexibility and ease. Options include flush in-wall, on-wall or partially recessed in-wall, and mounted vertically or horizontally. For exposed installations, a magnetic grille frame is available that can be covered in custom-colored cloth to match room décor.

Both Cinema Series speakers can be mated with several options of voice-matched surround and elevation speakers from NextLevel Acoustics to create an impressive coherent sound field. In addition, there are numerous high-performance subwoofer options, including the recommended CI-HV18 18-inch subwoofer with a 2000-watt peak amp capable of 120 dB sound pressure levels @ 6m and a frequency response from 17-120 Hz (MSRP $4399 each).
