Automated Mantelmount to Appear at CEDIA 2017

The MM850 Automated Pull Down & Swivel TV Mount, the first fully automated model from MantelMount, will highlight the company’s booth at CEDIA 2017 in San Diego, CA, September 7-9.

The MM850 Automated Pull Down & Swivel TV Mount, the first fully automated model from MantelMount, will highlight the company’s booth at CEDIA 2017 in San Diego, CA, September 7-9. The MM850 marks MantelMount’s entry into the home automation arena.

The MM850 allows the viewer to control TV viewing positions through most popular home automation systems, such as Crestron, Control4, RTI, Alexa, and others. The MM850 also features wired, built-in Ethernet, simplifying set up for installers, as well as simplifying the process for customer to download software updates.

The motorized MM850 features a 433 MHz RF remote control, which sets the vertical and horizontal TV position from anywhere in the room.

For users use the fireplace while watching TV, the MM850 provides two unique safety features: a heat-sensing thermocouple mounted near the television that measures heat from a fireplace, and an automatic failsafe that automatically retracts the TV to a fully-raised home position when the thermocouple detects an unsafe temperature for electronics.

According to KC Bean, CEO of MantelMount, the introduction of the MM850 model was a logical extension of the company’s flagship product.

“Some integrators, accustomed to working with high-end home automation projects, felt their clients wouldn’t want to pull the TV down themselves when everything else in the house was already automated through their home control system,” Bean explained. “So it was imperative that we invented a solution for that group of TV install/home integration professionals.”

Dual Electronic Actuators adjust the mounts vertical and horizontal positions, and a multi-axis hub allows the dual actuators to perform the complex drop and swivel motion smoothly and quietly. Users can also save up to six favorite TV positions

At CEDIA, the company will also introduce the MM750 Pro Series Pull Down & Swivel TV Mount, a manual mount that represents an upgrade from the Pro Series MM700. According to Bean, the MM750 is now the company’s top-of-the-line manual pull down and swivel TV mount.

Aside from the manual operation of the MM750, it shares a number of noteworthy elements with the automated MM850. Both models feature higher-grade steel from previous versions that will accommodate flat screen televisions up to 100 inches and as heavy as 130 pounds. In addition, both new models provide vertical travel distance up to 32 inches, plus horizontal swivel up to 30 degrees in either direction. The off-the-wall distance of 19-22 inches ensures that both units clear most mantel sizes. The MM750 also features patented pull down heat sensor handles that turn bright red at 110 degrees.

Sporting a black powder coated matte finish, the MM850 and MM750 include a recess box included for 1.6-inch flush to wall TV storage. A built-in sound bar adapter, hard travel limit stops (the MM850 also has “soft,” programmable stops), and cable wire management round out the list of convenience and safety features.

The MM850 has an MSRP $1699.00 and the MM750 will sell for MSRP $699.
