Legrand has released the new 802.11N Wireless Access Point (N-WAP).
With speeds of up to 300 Mbps, the new N-WAP delivers WiFi connectivity for even the most bandwidth-demanding applications, such as video streaming (Netflix, Hulu, Skype, etc.), online gaming, and VoIP (voice over IP).
The upgraded Wireless Access Point can be installed two ways in the home – as a dome-shaped ceiling mounted unit, or as a rectangular shaped wall-mounted box. Ordering and installation is made easy for installers, as a single SKU includes all hardware necessary for both wall-mount and ceiling-mount options.
Installation is also made easier with true PoE (Power over Ethernet) support so the installer does not need to run any extra power cable to the N-WAP. All wiring uses standard Cat 5 cable. The N-WAP can be mounted over either a triple-gang electrical box or a single-gang box for added installer convenience and flexibility.
The 802.11N Wireless Access Point also features multiple internal antennas for better coverage throughout the home, as well as multiple SSIDs for easy guest network setup.
“This new Wireless Access Point enables homeowners to fully utilize all their WiFi devices throughout their home without any concern for bandwidth constraints,” said Fritz Werder, vice president and general manager of Legrand brand of Home Systems. “Homeowners are utilizing streaming and IP-based technologies on a more frequent basis, and demand will only increase in the coming years. Therefore, a strong home network is the single most important component of a connected home. We want to ensure that our customers have the fastest, most reliable connection on the market. With this upgraded N-WAP, Legrand has delivered on that goal.”
