Simple Control has appointed Keith Pribyl as vice president of sales at the app-based home control company formerly known as Roomie Remote. The company has also hired Rob Zurn as director of sales engineering.
Pribyl spent much of his career leading sales activities for the Sanus brand as it grew from an entrepreneurial start-up into one of the largest TV wall mount and accessory brand in the world. In addition to his work building a U.S. sales team at Sanus, he is known for establishing a comprehensive distribution network across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
“Keith is a pioneer in the consumer electronics industry and we are excited to welcome him to the Simple Control team,” said Simple Control CEO, Will Price. “We believe his strong experience, especially in building a global sales and distribution network, will be extremely valuable as Simple Control prepares to grow around the world.”
Simple Control board member, Jim Wohlford, said that he’s known Pribyl for more than 25 years, and that he’s “thrilled” to have him join the company. “Keith is known universally in the industry, and well respected for his never-ending energy to build win-win relationships,” he said. “I’m confident that Keith is the right person to build our global sales and distribution network.”
Also joining Simple Control, Zurn brings a new level of technical expertise related to the programming of home control systems. His background in programming Lutron, RTI, Crestron, and Savant systems has enabled him to gain critical knowledge to take on the role of CI channel training and support.
Wohlford says his company chose the name Simple Control because “we really do have a simple product.”
“But as with any new system, there’s a learning curve,” Wohlford noted. “That’s where Rob comes in. His CI knowledge and experience, combined with great communication skills, makes him an ideal fit.”
Simple Control, formerly Roomie Remote, produces an app-based complete home control system. The Simple App operates thousands of devices like TVs, cable and satellite boxes, receivers, Blu-ray players, lights, switches, and thermostats. The system integrates interactive second-screen media guides and allows control of everything in the home from a single app. Simple offers a Simple Blaster for control of IR-based devices and also a Simple Sync Hub for additional whole-home features.
