Klipsch Owner VOXX Expands WiSA Association Membership

VOXX International's entire portfolio, which includes audio brands 808 Audio, Acoustic Research, Jamo, Klipsch, Energy, Magnat, Heco, and RCA, now become WiSA members.

The Wireless Speaker and Audio (WiSA) Association, an industry group dedicated to bringing high resolution, wireless, multi-channel audio products to the home theater market, today announces VOXX International Corporation’s vastly expanded membership.

VOXX International-owned subsidiary Klipsch has long served as a founding member of the Association, with the brand currently selling its WiSA-enabled Reference Premier HD Wireless home theater speakers in market. With this expansion, VOXX International is adding its entire portfolio, which includes well-known domestic and international audio brands of 808 Audio, Acoustic Research, Jamo, Energy, Magnat, Heco, and RCA.

As a WiSA member, VOXX International’s family of brands have access to the WiSA specification, technical support, and testing protocols necessary to bring interoperable, wireless home theater products to market. Ultimately, this will allow its brands to take advantage of the growing wireless home theater market on a global basis. VOXX International will also have the opportunity to launch wireless home theater products from a variety of brands with various price points, feature sets, cosmetics, as well as the proper global distribution to accommodate its vast customer bases.

“Our Klipsch brand has experienced significant success through our WiSA alliance and we look forward to leveraging this further with other leading audio products in our portfolio,” said Pat Lavelle, president and CEO of VOXX. “By expanding our partnership with WiSA, we will be in a better position to leverage WiSA’s resources and technological capabilities, while broadening potential distribution channels on a global scale. We look forward to working more closely with the association to enhance our offerings and delivering best-in-class solutions for our customers and retail partners.”

WiSA’s technology improves the home theater experience by standardizing and promoting quality wireless audio while assuring interoperability between wireless speakers and components. It enables wireless and multi-channel transmission of low-latency, high-definition audio. Additionally, WiSA eliminates the set up and wiring of traditional systems by utilizing wireless technology.

“VOXX is such an important component of the consumer electronics and high-end audio marketplaces both nationally and internationally,” said Tony Ostrom, president of WiSA. “The potential for certified product offerings is endless, and we look forward to working with them to make interoperable audio products that span the company’s portfolio. As our member roster grows, so does the potential for consumers to create the perfect home theater experience by selecting the products and brands that are right for them, their goals, and their environment.”

The WiSA Association consists of more than 30 member brands, including Harman and Xbox. Together.
