WyreStorm Launches 4K AV-over-IP Solution

NetworkHD 400 Series Distributes UHD, HDR AV in Residential Applications February 16, 2017
Why This Matters

The NetworkHD 400 Series 4K Encoder and Decoder supports transmissions of visually lossless 4K UHD video with HDR and multichannel audio up to DTS:X and Dolby Atmos.

At ISE, WyreStorm launched the latest 4K UHD and HDR evolution in its NetworkHD line of AV-over-IP products in the 400 Series JPEG2000 encoders and decoders that brings 4K Ultra HD and HDR to home and commercial environments.

Due for launch Q2, the NetworkHD 400 Series 4K Encoder and Decoder features JPEG2000 technology supporting transmissions of visually lossless 4K UHD video with HDR and multichannel audio up to DTS:X and Dolby Atmos for an AV-over-IP solution suited for residential as well as commercial environments, such as education or hospitality.

The low latency of less than a single frame end-to-end delay makes the 400 Series suited to smaller systems spanning several inputs and outputs where high quality and low latency are key requirements, as opposed to large systems of 50 or more devices over multiple switches.

The 400 Series is ideal for residential applications where the limitations of a centralized HDBaseT system, such as fixed inputs/outputs and a 70m cable distance are insufficient. The modular nature of the NetworkHD platform make it well suited for installs that may grow with future expansion/extension of the home and its AV system, whilst maintaining the high video and audio quality associated with HDBaseT transmission.

For certain commercial applications where low latency and high image quality are essential, the 400 Series also includes features such as 5.1 to 2.0 audio down-mixing and video walls up to 16x16, supporting both portrait and landscape orientation with image flipping.
