Essence will sell its line of electrostatic speakers, DACs, and Class D Power Amp exclusively online bypassing the traditional dealer channel. This is a change in strategy that eliminates the standard 50 percent dealer profit and brings the prices for Essence products down to disruptive new levels.
Essence is offering its model 1200 speakers for the price of $1,999 per pair through an online offer.
Whereas the electrostatic model 1200 entered the market two years ago at $3,999 a pair, with enough profit margin to allow for dealer participation at an attractive price when compared to other speakers in the same price range, Essence discovered that the traditional distribution channels that worked so well for many years became distorted after the financial crisis of 2008-09.
Now, the company is offering the model 1200 for the price of $1,999 per pair through an online offer.
