How do you rate the Leon Certified Horizon 616 Living Space Theater System?
I give Leon an “A,” because when I come up with unique design challenges they always have solutions. Bottom line, Leon delivers what they promise.
For what types of installations is it best suited?
Leon is now offering a wide selection of certified home theater systems to fit a variety of needs, including any custom requirements we may have. The Horizon 616 Living Space Theater 7.2 system is better suited for larger rooms featuring 65-inchplus flat-panel displays as the centerpiece. The system is designed to fill the room with great sound and blend into the décor.
Could you give us an example?
In a recent project the client was keen on having his speakers “heard but not seen.” I reviewed the space and came up with an elegant cabinetry concept. The setup included a Leon Horizon 616 center channel mounted below the flat-panel TV with left/right speakers hidden inside of cabinet doors with steel mesh grilles. Working with our favorite cabinetmaker we had a beautiful cabinet built for the large space and tasked Leon with fabricating all three front-channel speakers to meet my exact specifications, even squeezing the center channel into very tight tolerances. When the TV is powered off, motorized doors cover the screen and speaker and expose bookshelves on each side. The result is an elegant solution and an extremely happy client, all made possible because of Leon.
What features would you like to see changed or added?
Installation hasn’t always been a strong point, but I know that Leon listens to feedback from dealers and continues to bring innovative products to market, which helps all of us succeed. Bottom line, the speakers sound great and Leon thrives on meeting our unique design challenges. Beyond that, Leon is a pleasure to work with.
PRODUCT SPECIFICS
The Horizon System consists of the Hz616-LCR soundbar for front-channel sound, two pairs of Axis AX-81 in-ceilings for rear surround, and two Aaros 10-inch subwoofers powered by an external amp.
Leon custom builds the Horizon 616 to match the exact width and finish of any flat panel display we may spec, same is the case with the in-ceiling surrounds, which can be custom painted, and the sub is available even in an in-wall configuration for added flexibility in our designs.
