Q&A with Shannon Humphrey, president of MSE Audio.
Why CEDIA Expo 2022?
We have been involved with CEDIA since its inception and it’s the largest residential integration show we attend. We have some exciting new products that we are excited to debut.
What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?
We’re most excited for live demos again. Attendees can experience our sound room that will feature an 18-channel, double-bass line array dARTS digital theater. It’s a showstopper!
Resimercial is an important trend as we see more integrators using commercial products in residences. We’re addressing that need with our new Designer Sleeve and Mighty Mite pendant speakers. They are stunning with both their unique and versatile aesthetics and outstanding audio performance.
The other trend we can’t ignore is the supply chain woes. The past couple of years have been pretty dynamic, which led us to manufacture more of our drivers, speakers, and assemblies here in the U.S. I’m excited to see how other companies have responded and how those changes will impact the audio market.
What will you focus on at the show?
We’re focusing on our new Theater Sound Designer, which simplifies specifying and ordering luxury theater products. We’ll feature a variety of cinema speakers that will delight integrators, including the new dARTS Digital Theater speakers, a new soundbar, and new residential subwoofers — with a rare live demo in Sound Room 3. We can’t wait to show these off!
