Q&A with John Epeneter, Product Manager, Luxul
Q: Why CEDIA?
John Epeneter: Luxul exhibits at CEDIA for two main reasons: the value we’re able to provide the channel, and the value the channel provides us. Networking is a commodity industry; networks can be purchased from anyone. Within the CEDIA channel, we’re able to provide the integrator value they can’t get by purchasing outside the channel—the ability to make margin, access to lifetime technical support, ease of setup, a three-year warranty, and customized solutions that fulfill unmet needs of the industry. As networking continues to move to the forefront of importance, integrators need to have someone they can lean on. And as integrators lean on Luxul, the CEDIA channel provides us the differentiation necessary to succeed in a commodity industry.
Q: What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?
JE: We’re very excited to see more talk around AV-over-IP this year. This technology has traditionally been more popular in commercial but is filtering down into residential, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. The more exposure the residential market gets to this phenomenal technology, the more the market is driven towards exceptional solutions.
Q: What will you focus on at the show?
JE: CEDIA 2018 will have a big solutions focus for us. We’ll be releasing new products, programs, and software that will make installations easier and more profitable for the integrator. As always, we’ll also be displaying our full-lineup of routers, APs, switches, etc., but we have some really exciting new products coming to market in Q4—some of which will actually release at CEDIA and some of which will be announced there. Above all, we want to draw attention to the programs we’ve implemented that make being a Luxul integrator easy and profitable.
